White Jesus Must Die: Decoding Black Jesus

Ever wonder why “White Jesus” even remains a topic of discussion? I argue that White Jesus must die (Re-Crucified) so that people of the Black Diaspora can finally throw off the chains of White Christian Hegemony and to re-claim Christianity as a historically Black religion. In my recent article, “White Jesus Must Die: Decoding Black Jesus” (click on link to read article) published by Delos @ the University of Florida Press, (Spring 2022 – doi: 10.5744/delos.2022.1002)  I review two iconic paintings of independent artist Janet McKenzie and the Reverend Mark Doox of the Church of St. John Coltrane and the lingering question of the Blackness of Christ.
